DESCRIPTION:Hardy County STEM Festival Vendor Proposal Form- Deadline– June 30\, 2024\nDate- October 5\, 2024\nTime: 11 am-3 pm\nLocation: Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College Moorefield\, WV 26836\nVendor Arrival & Setup: 9:30 am-11 am \nOverview:\nThis year’s STEM Festival will be the first of its kind in Hardy County. The STEM Festival is expected to host up to 1\,000 students\, families\, and community members. Sponsored by Moorefield Robotics\, Eastern WV CTC\, and the WVU Extension office\, the mission of the STEM Festival is to motivate the interest of our youths in Science\, Technology\, Engineering\, and Mathematics (STEM) activities and careers by producing and facilitating\, exciting\, educational and interactive science activities. \nThe festival format allows guests and families to travel (or walk) through the buildings and outdoor spaces of the Eastern WV CTC campus at their own leisure while engaging in interactive experiences offered by facilitators who have traveled from a multi-state region. Facilitators who offer interactive experiences or engaging activities are given table and chair setups at assigned locations on campus. Facilitators should be prepared to meet with hundreds of guests throughout the day as guests visit and engage in activities at a leisurely pace. \nVendor Registration- Booth Types:\nYou may choose to register an “Interactive Booth” that hosts activities like “make and take” items or short interactive experiences. Notable examples from similar events have included 3D printing demonstrations\, monarch migration games\, SUGO robotics demonstration and build activities\, the science of cotton candy (with a free sample treat)\, miniature catapults\, make your own butter\, exploring cells\, launching rockets\, and building miniature parachutes. \nYou may choose to register an “Informational Booth” to pass out information in more of a conference-style expo. \nIf registering multiple booths\, please fill out the form for each one. \nVendor Application Form Here: https://forms.gle/aDDn1CVHrfnTXWDJ9 \nEquipment/Setup:\nRegardless of booth type\, 1 table will be provided along with 3 chairs. If you plan on bringing additional materials or if more space is necessary\, please indicate so at the end of this form under “Other”\nPresenters are required to bring their own exhibit materials including computers. \nFood:\nFood trucks and concessions will be on site should you wish to purchase lunch or snacks. SUMMARY:Pilgrim's Better Futures Open House
DESCRIPTION:Pilgrim’s Moorefield announced a partnership with Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College to provide free tuition to qualifying team members and their dependents. \nJoin us for an open house on Aug. 3 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Eastern’s main campus in Moorefield\, where Pilgrim’s team members can learn more about the program opportunities and application process. \nThe nationwide program\, Pilgrim’s Better Futures\, removes a major financial barrier to college attendance and stands to become the largest free community college tuition program in rural America. Pilgrim’s and Eastern advisors will also help team members – many from first-generation American families – navigate the application process\, which can be a deterrence to people applying to college for the first time.
