SUMMARY:Solar Installation Technician Program Educational Seminar
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Wednesday\, July 26 at 6 p.m. to learn about the new Solar Installation Technician training program at Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College and connect with West Virginia-based solar companies. \nParticipants can attend in person on Eastern’s Main Campus in Moorefield (room 104B)\, or virtually via Zoom. Refreshments will be provided by the West Virginia Department of Agriculture. \nTo RSVP\, email WorkforceEd@easternwv.edu or call 304-434-8000 ext. 9253. \nSolar Installation Technician Course Information: \nThe six-week hybrid course will begin Aug. 22. The course will include educational modules and weekly live online webinar sessions between 1 – 2 p.m. (Aug. 22\, 29\, Sept. 5\, 12\, 19\, and 26) followed by in-person hands-on lab sessions on Sept. 28 and 29.  \nNo prior experience or background in electrical systems and/or solar photovoltaics is needed. \nBy the end of the course\, students should have all the skills necessary to design and install residential-scale solar electric system. Students will also be certified\, after passing the examination\, as a Photovoltaic Installer–Level 1 (PVI1) — a credential recognized around the globe.
