For employees involved in the shipping, receiving, and handling of hazardous materials and waste.


This free Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Regulations Awareness Training Workshop is intended for government and non-government employees, or those who have some responsibility or involvement with shipping and/or transportation of hazardous materials or waste.

To ensure a basic knowledge of DOT HazMat Regulations, participants are recommended to complete 16 hours of coursework prior to the start of the workshop. Attendees will receive access to complete the online training after registering for the training.

This workshop is offered with U.S. DOT PHMSA HMIT grant support to the National Partnership for Environmental Technology Education (National PETE). Per the grant, government employees ARE eligible to participate in this program. 24 hours in accordance with 49 CFR § 172.704.

Participants must enroll by April 6, 2023.
*Class size is limited to 20 students.
