Volunteers Needed – VITA Program Tax Preparation

The VITA Program (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance is seeking tax preparers for the 2027 season. A total of 6 volunteers are needed to provide this FREE service to the community; currently there are 2 volunteers. Last year, volunteers at Eastern WVCTC prepared 250 tax returns.

If you know anyone who is willing to prepare taxes for the elderly and underserved populations for free, please contact Anne Degnan at 304-434-8000 ext. 9262. This is an IRS sponsored program and volunteers are trained and issued equipment by the IRS. Volunteers electronically file both Federal and State taxes.

If you earned $67,000 or less an IRS-certified volunteer will prepare and file your Federal and State tax returns for free.

Taxes are prepared onsite: Friday: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM and Saturday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
