Weather & Cancellations
In the event of severe weather conditions or emergencies, Eastern will determine whether classes are to be delayed or canceled.
Delayed Opening Guidelines
When a call is made on any given day to delay the College's opening until, for example,
10:00 AM, any class that has a start time prior to 10:00 AM will be canceled. If this opening time comes in the middle of a class, the entire class is canceled.

Generally, Discovery Centers are closed when the public schools are closed.
Classes held at the Eastern’s Main Campus and Technology Center will not be canceled when the public schools are closed. In the event the college cancels classes at the main campus or Technology Training Center, the college will be closed.

Instant Closure Notifications
Eastern uses CampusCast, as a special service to let students know if schools are closed or on a delay. You may receive a message through this service to the telephone number and email on record at Eastern.

When in doubt, you may also call Eastern, where you will hear a message stating if Eastern is closed, on a delay, or operating on a normal schedule. You should check with each instructor to understand what the class attendance policy is during periods of inclement weather. If weather conditions are hazardous, use your best judgment in making the decision to come to class or not.
