Eastern WVCTC 2025 Community Art Show

Show Run Dates:  Tuesday, May 27 – Friday, June 13

Reception Date:  Tuesday, June 3: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Drop-Off & Set-Up:  Saturday, May 17 and Wednesday, May 21 – 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Pick-up & Take-Down:  Saturday, June 14 & Wednesday, June 18 – 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Eligibility:  The 2025 Community Art Show at Eastern WVCTC is open to all U.S. artists age 18 and older. Entries in the following media will be accepted: painting, watercolor, drawing, mixed media, digital illustration/painting/graphic design (no AI), printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, and photography. Two-dimensional work must not exceed 3ft in width & 3ft in height and must be ready for exhibition. All works must be framed and wired for display. Exceptions include sculptures and ceramics. Sawtooth hangers will not be accepted. Gallery-wrapped canvases are accepted without frames but must have a wire installed for hanging. We are not able to accept work that requires suspension from the ceiling. All work submissions must not be over 15 pounds. Three-dimensional work must not exceed 3 feet in any direction. Depending on size, they will be placed on tables or on the floor for display. All work must be labeled with the artist’s name, title, short description, & price. Gallery space is limited, so entry is on a first come, first serve basis.

The Eastern WVCTC Art Show Committee will serve as the final authority on eligibility. All art is expected to be displayed throughout the length of the Community Art Show. Work submitted should be considered for general viewing audiences of all ages.

Fee, Entry, & Pick-up/Drop-off Procedure: Students who submit will pay no cost for entry and will be allowed a maximum of three entries. Residents of counties in Eastern’s service area (Hardy, Grant, Pendleton, Hampshire, Tucker, & Mineral) will receive a discounted entry fee of $10. All other artists who submit will pay an entry fee of $20. The fee allows up to three entries. All artwork must be brought to Eastern West Virginia Community & Technical College on Saturday, May 17, between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. or on Wednesday, May 21, between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. The entry fee can be paid by check or cash on the drop-off date. Please make checks out to Eastern WVCTC or Eastern WVCTC Foundation.

Sales:  Sales are encouraged, and all works are assumed to be available for purchase unless designated “Not For Sale” (NFS). The artist is responsible for ALL details of the sale, including delivery of the work to the buyer after pickup on June 14 or 18. A 5% commission is to be paid to the Eastern Foundation by the artist for each sale by June 30, 2025. Student work that is sold will not have a commission fee. Commission costs go to funding the Art Club and the Eagle’s Nest Art & Literary Magazine. Commission checks should be made out to Eastern WVCTC Foundation and mailed to Eastern WVCTC Foundation, c/o Robert Burns, 316 Eastern Drive, Moorefield, WV 26836.

Our Judges:  The show will be judged by artists Kristen Colebank and Donna Davy. Colebank works primarily in watercolor and is a Signature Member of the WV Watercolor Society and 2024 Creative Entrepreneur Fellow with the Tamarack Foundation for the Arts. She recently won an Award of Merit in the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society’s Aqueous Open International Exhibition. Her website is https://waitesrunstudios.com. Davy’s work is predominantly in acrylic, and in 2021 she was the first-place winner in the Animal/Wildlife category of the Artist’s Magazine’s annual Student Art Competition. Davy holds a Master of Arts degree, with a concentration in painting and drawing, from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, and she has nearly completed coursework for her Master of Fine Arts degree, also from AAU. Insurance:  Each artist is responsible for the insurance of their art. Eastern WVCTC does not assume any responsibility.

Third Place: $125
2 Honorable Mentions: $50 each
Student Award: $25 Amazon gift card and an Eastern gear pack
Easton’s Choice: $50
