Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College Welcomes Ed Cole as new Program Coordinator for Admissions and Financial Aid

Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College has announced the hiring of Edward (Ed) Cole as the college’s Program Coordinator for Admissions and Financial Aid.   

In this position, Cole will provide overall coordination, servicing, and scheduling for the College’s Learner Support Services functions by assessing initial contacts with students and potential students, as well as processing student applications, records, registration, and financial aid. Additionally, he will coordinate and compile data for institutional reporting purposes. 

A native of Moorefield, Cole has returned to the area after nearly 18 years in Higher Education at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia. At WVU, Cole spent two years as an Administrative Assistant and thirteen years as the Senior Program Coordinator for the Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP). The HCOP program assists underserved, disadvantaged, and minority students in becoming more competitive for college and health care careers, and aims to improve the distribution of health care professionals in the underserved areas in West Virginia.  

Cole also served three years as Senior Events Coordinator and Diversity Specialist for the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at WVU. The Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion seeks to provide university-wide education, support, accountability and leadership on issues relating to diversity to the campus and community. 

Cole holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from WVU and a Master of Science in Community Health Education from the West Virginia University School of Medicine. He is passionate about learning and helping others and is excited to return home where he can help students from their communities pursue their future goals.
