Frostburg State University and Eastern WV Community and Technical College Establish Two Transfer Pathways in Business

Articulation agreements will help students transition from associate degrees to bachelor’s degrees in business administration and accounting.

Frostburg State University (FSU) and Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College (EWVCTC) have established two academic program articulation agreements designed to create clearer pathways for students transferring from Eastern to FSU to complete bachelor’s degrees in business administration and accounting.

The agreements will facilitate the transfer of academic credits earned at Eastern, helping students continue their education at FSU while building on the coursework completed through their associate degree programs. The collaboration supports access to four-year degree opportunities and strengthens educational pathways that prepare students for professional careers in business and related fields.

“We hope that these will be just the first of many partnership agreements with EWVCTC,” said Dr. Linda Steele, FSU Transfer and Articulation Coordinator. “Our goal is to create a seamless transfer experience for students to remain in the region to complete a bachelor’s degree.”

Under the first agreement, students who earn an associate in applied science in Business Management from Eastern can transfer to FSU to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in General Management.

The second agreement establishes a transfer pathway for students earning an associate in science with an accounting concentration at Eastern who wish to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at FSU.

“These partnerships reflect our shared commitment to expanding educational opportunities and helping students achieve their academic and professional goals,” said Frostburg State University President Dr. Shadow JQ Robinson. “By creating clear pathways from Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College to Frostburg State, we are making it easier for students to build on their accomplishments, earn a bachelor’s degree and prepare for meaningful careers. Strong regional partnerships like this are essential to supporting student success and strengthening the communities we serve.”

“We are excited to partner with four-year institutions to provide our students with seamless pathways to advanced degrees,” said Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College President Dr. Thomas Striplin. “Frostburg State University is an important regional partner that offers students access to high-quality, affordable educational opportunities. Beginning in fall 2027, Frostburg State’s new regional tuition rate will make continuing their education even more affordable for Eastern students.”

Through these agreements, the institutions aim to promote academic continuity and make it easier for students to plan their educational journeys from a two-year college to a four-year university. The partnerships also reinforce the institutions’ shared commitment to expanding educational opportunities and supporting the development of a skilled workforce for the region.

Students interested in transferring to Frostburg State University through either pathway should contact FSU’s Office of Admissions for information about admission requirements, transfer credits and program options.
