On February 15, Curtis Hakala, dean of academic services (pictured below), spoke about wind energy at the West Virginia state capitol for the New Energy Caucus. Eastern has the only Wind Energy Technology program in West Virginia; at the beginning of 2022, alumni from this program were hired by Clearway Energy Group right out of graduating.
