7th annual Potomac Highlands Agriculture Innovation Showcase set for Oct. 15

The latest advancements in agriculture technology will be on display at this year’s Potomac Highlands Agriculture Innovation Showcase hosted by Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College’s Ag Innovation Program.

The outdoor event kicks off at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15 on Eastern’s main campus, located at 316 Eastern Drive in Moorefield and will feature more than a dozen vendors.

“This is a great annual event that celebrates the Potomac Highlands agriculture industry and brings together the latest advancements in ag equipment and services to benefit all types of operation,” said Megan Webb, dean of advancement and continuing education at Eastern. “Bring your friends and family for an enjoyable day on Eastern’s campus!”

Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in two seminar sessions hosted by the West Virginia Department of Agriculture (WVDA) that can be applied toward the West Virginia Pesticide License.

The first educational session presented by the WVDA will be held from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. and the second will be held from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. The WVDA’s Produce Safety Trailer and Honeybee Specialist will be at the event as well.

Attendees can take part in product demonstrations by leading agriculture companies, equipment dealers, mineral and feed dealers, chemical representatives, seed dealers, drones and more. The event will end at 1 p.m.

Vendors set to be in attendance are the WV State Treasury Jumpstart Savings Program, Farm Credit Knowledge Center, Eastern Workforce Education Department, Natural Resources Conservation Service, WV Conservation Agency, James River Equipment, Weese Farm-WF Veggies and Blooms, National Drone Services, WVDA, Eastern Makerspace, Southern States, Shenandoah Ag Supply, Mountainview Veterinary Services, Extension Pari System and Merck.

Food will be available to purchase from Meadowbrook Farm BBQ.
