Eastern is pleased to announce that the Board of Governors has asked Dr. Thomas Striplin to assume the position of President of Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College. He is expected to assume the office on June 30, 2021, pending final negotiations and Council approval. We welcome Dr. Striplin’s leadership as we enter the next chapter of Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College’s history. Dr. Striplin is a community college graduate and is well-versed in academics. He brings strong leadership skills and years of experience that will help Eastern position itself for the future.
Thomas Striplin, Ed.D., is Dean of Arts & Sciences at Allegany College of Maryland in Cumberland, MD. He previously served as Director of Clinical Education and Professor for the Respiratory Care Program at Allegany College of Maryland. Dr. Striplin earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and a Master of Education in Health, Health Psychology, and Physical Education from Frostburg State University in Frostburg, MD; a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy from Salisbury State University in Salisbury, MD; and an Associate of Applied Science in Respiratory Therapy from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY.
Eastern would also like to extend appreciation to the entire College community for their participation at the recent presidential forums. Everyone’s input was reviewed and greatly valued by the Board. Eastern would also like to express its appreciation to the Presidential Search Committee for their time, dedication, and thoughtful work on behalf of Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College.
