Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College (Eastern) is pleased to announce the addition of Cristyn Bauer as the college’s Biological and Environmental Technology Program Coordinator.
As part of her position, Ms. Bauer, a member of the Appalachian Forest Heritage Area AmeriCorps, will participate in community outreach and engagement to transform the community’s environmental knowledge and passion. Additionally, she will perform conservation work, including land improvements and monitoring through surveys, research and assessments of the local ecosystems.
Bauer has been a resident of West Virginia for more than a decade and hopes to use her position at Eastern to give back to her local community and “make sure West Virginia is able to be enjoyed by us all for many years to come.”
A native of Maryland, Bauer fell in love with the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers, which led her to obtain her bachelor of science in sustainable resource management. She lives in the Appalachian Mountains with her husband and three dogs: Snoop Dogg, Brown Dog and Master P.
