Eastern WVCTC Brought the Beach to Moorefield with Summer Open Houses

MOOREFIELD, W.Va. – Eastern West Virginia Community & Technical College (Eastern WVCTC) welcomed prospective students to two beach-themed open houses this summer, held Wednesday, July 16, and Friday, Aug. 8, at its Moorefield campus.

The events gave attendees a chance to meet with academic and workforce education advisors, explore programs, and receive on-the-spot assistance with applications and class registration.

Hourly prize drawings, food, beverages, and photo opportunities with Eastern’s mascot, Easton the Eagle, kept the events lively. Two grand prize winners—one from each open house—took home a beach-themed gift basket and a DelGrosso’s gift card.

Grand prize winners included:

  • Aubree Keiter – Wednesday, July 16 Open House
  • Allison Eckhardt – Friday, August 8 Open House

“These open houses are one of the most fun and welcoming ways for new students to experience Eastern,” said Monica Wilson, V.P. of Academics and Student Services. “They get a true feel for the community here while also getting the support they need to take their next steps in higher education.”
