Ag Workforce Student Success: Ashley Sanders

Name:

Ashley Sanders

Workforce training program(s) completed at Eastern:

Ashley Sanders completed the Farm Fellowship Program among other certifications through Ag Workforce in 2024. She plans to continue taking courses at Eastern.

Are you still taking training programs? If so, where and what training are you working toward?

I plan to continue taking some of the courses that Eastern offers each year to further my knowledge.

What is something you learned (knowledge, training, skills) during Eastern’s Workforce training program that you utilize in your workplace and/or current training?

So much of what I learned during my fellowship is applicable to our current operation and future plans we have. Some of my favorite topics include stockmanship, rotational grazing, and high tunnel management.

Did trainers/instructors/staff at Eastern contribute to your career success? How did they help you?

The team at Eastern, WVU Extension staff, and my mentors have provided me with invaluable wisdom. The knowledge from years of research, working with producers, and first-hand experience made this program something that will continue to contribute to our operation.

What advice would you give to current Workforce students at Eastern who are looking to follow a similar path to a job?

Knowledge is power! Whether you grew up in agriculture, or are just starting out, take every opportunity you can to learn.
