Eastern West Virginia Community & Technical College’s (Eastern) master plan always included the construction of a parking lot on the right side of the school’s main entrance that would be a mirror image to the lot currently situated off Eastern Drive, but finding the funding for the new pavement had proven problematic for the nearly 10-year-old campus, until recently.

e past three years, Eastern West Virginia Community & Technical College (Eastern) and AmeriCorps have teamed up to further engagement between the college and community while providing AmeriCorps members valuable experiences that strengthen the world around them.

Gain hands-on learning experiences in state-of-the-art classrooms and lab spaces at Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College this fall. With fall courses beginning August 13, Eastern will provide students with personalized attention and custom solutions to workforce training needs unmatched within the region in just two years.  New partnerships, like Eastern’s association with Washington DC-based technology firm ISMS Solutions, LLC, effectively enables the college to provide learning opportunities in cybersecurity and auditing to help strengthen the Moorefield economy.

With a focus on sustainably building tourism-centered industries, the Potomac Highlands Regional Tourism Initiative with sponsoring partner Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College (Eastern) will hold its second annual Tourism Summit on August 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the National Youth Science Center, 94 Riverstone Drive in Davis.

Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College in Moorefield will host an exhibition by Signature Members of the West Virginia Watercolor Society, Aug. 13 – Oct. 26, in the college’s first-floor Eagle’s Nest Gallery. An opening reception for the exhibition will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17, and the public is invited to attend.
